In fact, twice he was able to get away from us on walks, and only because he wore himself out (and me, in the process of chasing him down), was I able to get him back. So, we knew we needed some help. We found IQ K9 here at Yelp, and gave them a call. Brett came out for an initial visit, met Bud, and we were happy to find out that he also owned a whippet, so he was well-familiar with the breed. We signed on for a 6-weekly training package, and during the course of that time, we saw Bud blossom. His confidence grew, he seemed really eager to do the work, and became a much calmer, happier dog. He now walks beautifully on a leash, he comes when called, and loves to do his daily training work. I would still never allow him to run off-leash in an unenclosed area (as I said, whippets are incredibly fast and dogs are still dogs, no matter how well-trained). But the training he received from IQ K9 has made a world of difference. Be prepared to do your own work -- consistency on your part as an owner is every bit as important as for your dog. But if you do, and if you follow the instruction and training that these folks provide, you're going to be amazed at how well your dog responds. Highly recommended."
