It’s a shame that the highest rating you can give is 5 stars, because 5 stars doesn’t even begin to reflect the professionalism, kindness, and dedication that everyone at IQ K9 embodies. We sent our dog Mylo for a 3 week board and train and it was the most incredible, life changing experience for us. It was obvious that each trainer was not only knowledgeable, but had truly taken the time to get to know and work with Mylo, however, it didn’t stop there. The entire staff also helped work with us after training to ensure we had the knowledge to continue his skills at home. Through our interactions you could tell that each staff member truly cared for each individual animal there and loves what they do. 100/10 recommend IQ K9 to anyone inquiring about their services!Posted on Jen KimTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had our Malinois do their board and training service. We had a great experience and learned so much from IQK9. We also got more training from IQK9 after we added a Dutch Shepherd into our family. IQK9 is the only place we trust to board our boys when we have to go out of town. They have so much fun. Our Mal literally whines from excitement when we get to their facility. We just know that they will be well taken care of and be mentally/physically stimulated. I also appreciate that they send photo updates.Posted on Elizabeth TabinoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. IQ K9 is the absolute best all around! They not only trained our pup to fit well within our family dynamics but I could tell they treated and loved him like he was their own. We will definitely be using them for future training sessions and boarding.Posted on Jennifer LemmonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I dropped my then 8 month old Cane Corso puppy off for the 2 week board and train program and have been raving about IQ K9 Training to anyone who will listen since! Blueberry is a smart dog (proud mommy’s opinion) but that also meant she learned just how much she could push back before I’d just let her do her. The training began on my very first phone call to simply inquire about the programs they offered. I had a very thorough call with Stani and she even gave me a few pointers to start implementing right away. That was my first WOW moment with IQ K9 Training. I was given helpful advice without the promise of my dog participating in their program. That’s typically unheard of! But that wasn’t the only time. I signed Blue up for the training and even before her first day, Luis not only sent alot of helpful information on what to expect over the 2 week board and train but we also emailed and spoke on the phone several times prior to me dropping her off. My sister had done a similar board and train a few years back with her pup so it’s assumed you drop your dog off and if you want updates you have to call. Not with IQ K9!! They sent updates every few days which included pictures and videos. On drop off day, Blueberry’s vet and I had been monitoring her eye which was looking like it was going to cherry. Stani, Luis and Logan went above and beyond by contacting my personal vet and sending her pictures of the eye, all while keeping me in the loop of what the vet told them to do. I was super appreciative that my baby was receiving not just training, but love and care. Now let’s talk about training. Until this program, I wasn’t able to go to the bathroom by myself 😆. She would scream and fight me if I tried to put her in her kennel, she’d zoom out the front door the moment it opened…… now she looks at the kennel as her place to calm herself and rest, she waits nicely at the door until I tell her she can go, she can stay in “place” (often falls asleep now) for long periods of time and her recall is fantastic and immediate from decently far distances. They gave us both the tools we need to have a great relationship! AND!!! After I picked her up, they still check in on us which is again, unheard of! This team goes above and beyond for your dogs, you can tell they love what they do! In fact, on one of our follow ups, I mentioned that Blue and I were going to go on our first trip and that she would be in a new location with a lot of new people coming in and out. I also mentioned I was worried about walking her in this new area as there are usually a lot of stray or unleashed dogs. Stani, Luis and Logan all helped to create several scenarios to help me work through and become comfortable handling various situations so that as a team Blue and I would be prepared for our first long distance trip. That was more training for me than for Blue but they wanted to make sure I felt equipped to handle anything that might come at us because it’s also important for Blue. I know that I have their continuous support if Blueberry and I should ever run into a hiccup and that just provides such a sense of relief as she continues to get older. I have nothing but amazing things to say about the team at IQ K9 Training. In my opinion, this is the only place you should take your dog for training!Posted on Jim WadeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This team worked wonders with my 6 month old Vizsla. We did the 3 week program and it was seamless. Luis was very patient and explained things that we never thought about. We came with the basic training needs, but also some custom issues that were rectified. I would recommend K9 IQ to anyone in need!Posted on Jay SmithTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The IQ K9 staff did such a great job with my cane corso puppy, Phoenix. I placed him in the 4 week training course and since he came home, he had been so well mannered and listens so very well. He is just a 6 month old puppy and I can take him out anywhere, he listens so well and is such a good boy. They helped shape Phoenix into a certified pure bred good boy. Thank you for the amazing work with him and the attentive communication. It was a pleasure working with you.Posted on Kikue FioraTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We sent our two dogs to a 3-week board and train program at IQK9 in Valley Center and the results were incredible! Our dogs came home more obedient, calm, and confident — they now respond to commands, walk beautifully on leash, and no longer jump on people or fight with each other. The dog trainers at IQK9 in Valley Center are amazing — you can tell they truly care about every dog and have years of professional dog training experience. The whole process was easy, clear, and very well-organized. They even trained us during pickup so we understood how to stay consistent at home. This made all the difference because it is so important for us to continue their training at home to instill everything they learned. Our dogs absolutely loved their trainers and were so happy the entire time. If you’re looking for obedience training, leash training, or dog behavior correction in Valley Center or North County San Diego, we 10/10 recommend this place!Posted on Melanie KrallTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. IQK9, totally changed my 2 year old border collie mix that was mouthy and anxious. More importantly they taught me how to communicate with my dog. When I picked Toby up after a two week training he was so calm and so respectful. The training also includes additional lessons after the 2 week program along with some other benefits and they are always there if any questions come up. I highly recommend IQK9 and cannot thank them enough! THANK YOU!Posted on Mona A.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We can’t say enough good things about Stani, Luis, and the entire team at IQ K-9 Training! From the very beginning, they made us feel completely comfortable and confident leaving our dog, Hunter, in their care. Trusting someone with your dog for a two-week program isn’t easy—but their professionalism, knowledge, and genuine love for what they do made it an easy decision. Hunter came back to us more focused, obedient, and well-mannered than we ever expected after just two weeks. It was clear he had not only been trained with skill and structure but had also been cared for like one of their own. When we later decided to bring Hunter back for additional help, we were met with the same level of support, care, dedication, and expert guidance. Stani, Luis, and their team go above and beyond—not just in training dogs, but in building trust with owners and helping us better understand how to support our dogs at home. We’re beyond grateful and highly recommend IQ K-9 to anyone looking for professional, reliable, and compassionate dog training. Thank you for helping Hunter—and us—become the best team possible! Respectfully, Mona, Dennis & LukePosted on AlexTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I adopted a 9 week old Xoloitzcuintle puppy and was quickly overwhelmed with how high of energy she was (is) and certain behaviors I didn't like. She was biting HARD 24/7, jumping constantly, did not like being held or touched at all (which made her necessary skin care near impossible), and she needed help with potty training, crate training, leash training....basically everything. The most difficult things for us were the hard biting and jumping. Luis called us for our free phone consultation and he was very thorough and knowledgeable. He asked us tons of questions about her personality, her behaviors, our home environment, and her interactions with people and our other dog. We were hesitant at first about the e-collar, but when Luis explained how it would be used and that they would teach us how to properly use it, we felt reassured. For our first session, the trainer came out to our house and immediately started teaching us how to get Keya to calm down with the jumping and biting. She explained we needed to work on impulse control and THEN commands. She taught us the words to use and gave us a packet explaining when we would use each word. We practiced inside, in the backyard, and in our parking lot (away from grass since she wasnt fully vaccinated yet). We got so many great tips right away. We still felt overwhelmed so the trainer texted us to keep checking in on how we were doing. Our second lesson was another home visit and it definitely helped us realize our dog's primary focus was impulse control, so we kept working on it. Our puppy still kept doing the unwanted behaviors and my wife and I were so exhausted and frustrated that we texted IQ K9 asking if we could bring her to them sooner than planned. They agreed, and we brought her in for drop off. She ended up staying a whole month, and when it came for the day of pick up, we met with Logan at the training facility/home, and Logan took their time re-explaining the commands, answering our questions, then training us on the e-collar. At this point, we got to say hi to our puppy, then we went outside and immediately started practicing commands with our puppy. Logan showed us how to do something, then my wife and I took turns trying. When we made errors, Logan kindly corrected us, which we are so grateful for. After 2-3 hours, it was finally time for us to go home. We were so nervous to bring Keya (our high energy breed puppy) home, but we were SO shocked and impressed on how much progress she made. IQ K9 truly did amazing work with Keya that we never thought possible. Since she has been home, we have had some difficulties, but we expected that, and Logan prepared us for that. Logan told us there would be mistakes for us and Keya, and that we all needed to find our groove and continue the commitment to training for it to stick. My wife and I were encouraged to text IQ K9 any questions that arise, and we had some by the next day. They answered our questions and were happy to help. I highly, highly recommend IQK9! The entire team is amazing and has not only helped Keya, but helped my wife and I.Load moreVerified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
